Forgotten Days (Passport, Book No 2)
Published in Paperback by Bantam Books (April, 1992)
Authors: Kate Mueller, Howard Simpson, and Raymond A. Montgomery
Average review score:

Indiana Jones for the younger set!
Following the same formula as the clever Choose Your Own Adventure series (why can't these books still be on the bookstore shelves?), the Passport series offers exciting Indiana Jones-style adventures, starring yourself, a cameraman, and an investigative journalist.

In Forgotten Days, your team is hired by a prim English woman to track down the missing pages of a forgotten diary written by one of her ancestors. The adventures follow the same thread as all those old-fashioned hero stories, filled with double-crosses, triple crosses, badguys with guns, narrow escapes, girls tied up in the badguy's tent- all those classic adventure elements. It's a perfect book for preteens and possibly even early teens (it's actually even entertaining for adults!)

Author: Howard Edington
Average review score:

Marriage, Fatherhood, Rejection, Protection, & Hope
If you don't think that you can learn most of what you need to know about these topics in a mere 56 pages... think again and get this book. Not only does it tell the untold story of the first Christmas, it tells the story of the author's own fatherhood experience in a genuine and touching way. It simply made me want to be a better husband, father, and follower of the Christ of Christmas.

The Four Who Entered Paradise
Published in Paperback by Jason Aronson (July, 2000)
Authors: Howard Schwartz and Jules Glenn
Average review score:

A Wonderfully Told Story From Jewish Mystical Lore
The Talmud tells of four great sages who entered paradise,Rabbi Akiva, Ben Zoma, Ben Azzai and Elisha ben Abuyah. Of the four, one died, one went insane, and one "cut the shoots". Only of Rabbi Akiva is it said that "he ascended in peace and descended in peace." The Talmud gives very little further explanation of this legendary visit to paradise. Howard Schwartz has researched this legend and created a mythical travelogue of the journey. His novella takes into account Talmudic and other scholarly literature regarding this legend and interweaves other common themes of Jewish mysticism. I enjoyed the story immensely, especially the way it brought together numerous pieces of Jewish lore and legend, some of which were already familiar to me, but among which I had never seen a connection. The story is accompanied by an introduction and detailed "Thematic Commentary".

The Frank Collection: A Showcase of the World's Finest Fantastic Art
Published in Paperback by Sterling Publications (March, 2000)
Authors: Jane Frank, Howard Frank, Don Maitz, and John C. Berkey
Average review score:

"A SHOWCASE OF THE WORLD'S FINEST FANTASTIC ART"
A great book for sci-fi and fantasy art fans everywhere.

The Franks have probably collected the biggest aray of sci-fi and fantasy art by an individual couple.

This book goes through room by room and describes the different pieces of artwork of "THE COLLECTION" that the Franks have collected throughout the years. Including ancedotes of some of the pieces that they have aquired. Some are the original paintings of book covers, others are commissioned paintings that they have had done. By well known and unknown artists alike.

The Franks are big supporters in the art field and are constantly standing up for artists and their rights. Helping donate money and time for art organizations that are in desperate need. To even helping out that artist to create his inspired idea that they may have been unable to do by helping to finance the project.

If you ever wanted a book with a very diverse and representative of many influential artists of the genre this book is it. And then realize that it collected all by one couple...AMAZING!

Friends for Three Hundred Years
Published in Paperback by Pendle Hill Pubns (January, 1993)
Author: Howard H. Brinton
Average review score:

Quaker 'Classic'
Quaker 'classic.' Brinton, who helped start Pacific Yearly Meeting (in California) of the Religious Society of Friends (unprogrammed) and Pendle Hill (Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation near Philadelphia), describes the development of Quakerism since its beginnings with George Fox, Margaret Fell and others in the mid-1650s in England. He highlights the unique (mystical) form of Quaker Worship (in silence) as a third form of Christianity. Pendle Hill Publications now titles this book "Friends for 350 Years."
